It’s kind of a weird thing to say that I met one of my best friends on TikTok and she is a Pitmaster and Catering Extraordinaire

In the bustling world of social media, connections can lead to incredible journeys. Such is the case with our beloved Auntie Alex, affectionately dubbed for her incredible knack with my children and her unwavering support as a friend/baby whisperer. Our story began on TikTok, where serendipity brought us together, and from there, a genuine friendship blossomed.

For me it’s crazy to have a connection with someone so quickly and also meeting someone who is effortlessly easy to get along with and that comes out to support you after working rough hours is someone I want to keep around. Alex came out to a restaurant opening I was consulting and shot a BUNCH of content without me even asking. See Picture below.

Recently, “Auntie Alex” embarked on an exciting culinary adventure, making waves in the industry with her appearance on Hulu’s cooking show, “Next Level Chef.” To say she crushed it would be an understatement. Her mastery in the kitchen earned her the esteemed titles of Pitmaster and ambassador to the BBQ realm—a testament to her undeniable talent and passion for all things food.

But Alex’s journey doesn’t stop there. Alongside her boyfriend Aaron, she ventured into the world of catering, launching the impressive venture known as Iron and Oak Catering. Their dedication to the craft is evident in every dish they create, promising an unforgettable culinary experience for all who indulge. Indulge like the occasional fun we will have together when we are doing ramen tasting videos…

We recently had the pleasure of attending Alex’s inaugural catering event, held on a picturesque farm. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the unveiling of her brand-new outdoor wood oven, a stunning creation custom-made by Vandoren Welding The atmosphere was electrifying, with the presence of esteemed guests including celebrity chef David Burke and, of course, yours truly—Chef Arugula (yes, that’s me!).

The event was a resounding success, a testament to Auntie Alex’s unwavering commitment and sheer talent. From savory BBQ delights to mouthwatering desserts, every bite was a testament to her culinary prowess. If you’re ever in need of a gastronomic experience like no other, look no further than Iron and Oak Catering. Trust me; you won’t be disappointed.
